Matt Gomer has been a member of the NCMA Denver Chapter since December of 2007. He served as Program Chair for the 2008/2009 program year and the 2009/2010 program year. For the 2010/2011 program year he was President Elect and is now the Denver chapter President for the 2011/2012 year.
Matt is a Contract Specialist with General Services Administration – Federal Acquisition Service. Matt is responsible for all pre-award and post-award contract functions. He is in charge of a wide variety of procurements ranging from aircraft sustainment projects with the USAF to IT software development contracts to services and commodity purchases. Some of Matt’s largest clients include DoD, NOAA, and the VA.
Matt is a past graduated of the Contract Management Leadership Development Program (CMLDP) and had the opportunity to congratulate the two Denver chapter CMLDP’s, Jami Dinsmore and Erin Stewart, at their graduation ceremony at World Congress in Denver this year. The CMLD program, organized by NCMA National, is designed to help develop the next generation of contract management leaders through an intensive year-long educational experience. “This was an absolutely fantastic program. I was very excited to be there to watch our 2010/11 CMLDP’s walk across the stage at World Congress here in Denver.”
Prior to GSA, Matt was a Program Specialist working with the Rocky Mountain Regional CASU (Cooperative Administrative Support Unit/ RMRC). He provided contract management, project management, and acquisition support for the RMRC. He was responsible for the management of RMRCs’ contract staffing and multi-media service lines which grossed $60 million annually.
Preceding Matt’s move to Colorado, he lived in Waconia, Minnesota, near Minneapolis/ St. Paul. He held a position as project manager for a commercial construction contractor, Kohls Foam Systems, Inc. Matt specialized in energy efficient sustainable construction methods. He has managed major projects for Cargill, Aspen Ski Company, and the Little Nell in Aspen Colorado.
Matt graduated in 2002 from St. John’s University in Collegeville, MN with a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Business Management. For fun, Matt enjoys cycling, playing his guitar, fishing, hunting, and anything else that lets him escape into the mountains.
