Below are the NCMA Denver Chapter meetings/ seminars/ webinars that have been scheduled for the coming program year. Monthly Lunch Meeting, April 16, 2013, at Landry’s Seafood House:  Emerging Trends in Government Contract Intellectual Property and Data Rights Issues with Bill Anderson

Join the NCMA Denver Chapter for a presentation focused on emerging trends in Government Contract Intellectual Property and Data Rights issues.  Our featured speaker is Bill Anderson, former Chief Intellectual Property Counsel of United Launch Alliance, LLC.  Retiring after many years with ULA, Bill will provide us an update on the latest developments relating to government contract intellectual property/data rights issues and will be available to address your hypothetical questions as they come up.

Monthly Breakfast Meeting, May 14, 2013, at Café del Sol:  FEMA, Contingency Contracting and the Stafford Act with John Norway, FEMA
 
Speaker:  John Norway, FEMA Regions VI thru X Contracting Officer and Section Chief
 
The NCMA Denver Chapter is thrilled to hear from Mr. Norway.  He will be educating our membership on issues relating to contingency contracting and, specifically, the means and methods that FEMA uses to rapidly achieve tangible outcomes for disaster victims while simultaneously ensuring fair and reasonable pricing and that it complies with other legal requirements.  In particular, Mr. Norway will discuss the additional restrictions that apply in disaster procurement contexts, including the Stafford Act.

June 18, 2013, 10:00 to 11:30 a.m., Ball Aerospace, 10055 Westmoor Drive, WMR1 Blue Lakes Conference Room, Westminster:  Ten Tools for Subcontracting
 
This presentation provides a top-level view of federal government subcontracting and the tools a subcontract manager needs.  The presentation explains how the tools produce the efficiency, accountability and transparency necessary to be successful in subcontracting.  The presentation shows why each tool is needed and the practical way it is used. The ten tools are shown in the relationship to each other to produce a value stream from requirements definition to delivery to closeout.  This presentation will also include:  knowing why these tools must be used; knowing the top ten tools a subcontract manager needs; and knowing where they are used in the subcontracting process.  Presenters Include: Jim Kirlin, CFCM, CPCM, Fellow, Senior Subcontracts Manager -Raytheon Company.
