Chapter meetings

 

January Monthly Meeting

 

On Tuesday, January 15, 2008 the NCMA lunch meeting will be held at Landry's Seafood House, 7209 South Clinton Street with the topic of "Rights in Technical Data- An Update")\ and will be presented by Mr. William (Bill) C. Anderson.    Registration will begin at 11:30; lunch at 11:45 and speaker at 12:15, adjourning no later than 1:00 p.m.  Your meal choices are Fresh Tilapia Pontchartrain with rice pilaf and vegetables or Chicken Fettuccine.  Both include a Caesar salad and your choice of coffee, tea or water.  The cost for this lunch is $18 and your RSVP should be received by Stacey Gustus at sgustus@mckennalong.com or 303-634-4428 no later than COB on January 11, 2008, and include your name, company and meal choice.

 

William (Bill) C. Anderson is Assistant General Counsel and Chief Intellectual Property Counsel, United Launch Alliance, LLC, Centennial, Colorado.  In his current capacity, Bill is responsible for all IP issues at ULA including Government data rights issues. Bill worked for Boeing for over twenty years during two stints.  In between those two stints (June 1999 and April 2002), he was Assistant General Counsel, Honeywell International Inc., Aerospace Electronic Systems, in Phoenix, Arizona.  Prior to his employment at Honeywell, he managed the Boeing Aircraft & Missiles Systems, Intellectual Property Law Group in St. Louis, Missouri.  Bill assisted the Section 807 Federal Advisory Committee in drafting the 1995 data rights policy and regulations (DFARS) for the Department of Defense.  Bill also worked with Boeing and industry representatives to conceive and implement statutory (Federal Acquisition Streamlining Act of 1994) and regulatory (1995 FAR/DFARS) reforms permitting the federal government to more easily acquire commercial items using commercial practices.  Bill co-authored "Successful Partnering Between Inside and Outside Counsel", a joint publication of ACCA and West Group and is the author of "A Comparative Analysis of Intellectual Property Issues Relating to the Acquisition of Commercial and Non-Commercial Items by the Federal Government" (Public Contract Law Journal (33:1, Fall 2003)).  Bill is a graduate of the Polytechnic Institute of Brooklyn, University of Baltimore Law School and the University of Washington Executive MBA Program.

The NCMA Denver Chapter has expanded its Scholarship plan to facilitate the award of new scholarships this year.  Yes, the Chapter wants to give away more money!

The NCMA Denver Chapter has scholarship opportunities to provide funding for (i) membership dues to the NCMA Denver Chapter, (ii) continuing education for current Chapter members, and (iii) college scholarships for anyone interested in contracting as a career.  If you or anyone you know is interested in a scholarship, please contact the Scholarship Chair, Corey Sanchez at 303-634-4000 or at csanchez@mckennalong.com

The Denver Chapter sponsors,  free of charge, Host Facilities for the various Audio Seminars.  The site host information will be sent via e-mail prior to each seminar.  It is the member’s responsibility to contact the designated Point of Contact in advance so that adequate materials, certificate of attendance, security badges and facility entrance paperwork (if applicable) can be prepared for the seminar.  To attend a specific audio seminar, please register with Stacey Gustus at sgustus@mckennalong.com or 303-634-4428.  Please note the topic, dates and locations for the upcoming seminars.
