Monthly Meetings
MARCH MONTHLY MEETING: A breakfast meeting on March 10th is planned with Bruce Jensen from United Launch Alkliance (ULA) agreeing to speak about constructive changes to contracts and the ramifications that they can present. A breakfast meeting at Braun’s Bar & Grill is currently anticipated. Additional details will be sent out soon.
APRIL SYMPOSIUM: An all day seminar at the Franciscan on April 14. Details will be provided in the next few weeks.

Available
The Chapter still has Scholarship money to give away! If you are interested, there are scholarship opportunities to provide funding for (i) membership dues to the NCMA Denver Chapter, (ii) continuing education for current Chapter members, and (iii) college scholarships for anyone interested in contracting as a career. If you or anyone you know is interested in a scholarship, please contact the Scholarship Chair, Corey Sanchez at 303-634-4000 or at csanchez@mckennalong.com.

Certification
and Study Groups
If there is any interest in
participating in a certification study group, please forward your interest to dcouture@ball.com. List what module you are studying for, what
is a good time for you to meet with others, your general location, do you have
the study materials, etc.
For your convenience – the
Denver Chapter has purchased all of the necessary study materials for all of
the relevant exams, which should greatly reduce your cost investment in
preparing for the exams.
The Chapter will reimburse
each member, up to a lifetime total of $500 for the cost towards study materials
and exam fees, upon successful completion of a certification.

be given to those individuals studying for certification. If you are interested in checking out one of

Certifications – where have all the candidates gone?
I was going to write a
passionate item about Certifications, their importance, etc. However, as I just got back from the Mid Year
Leadership Conference and found out that they are going to alter the
Certification Process in May 2009. Not
much was forthcoming except that there will be one exam per Certification – and
there will still be three Certifications.

nominee for the NCMA Contract Management Leadership Development Program (CMLDP)
for the class starting in June 2009!
COST AND
PRICING TRAINING
Join NCMA Denver Chapter for our first evening training on Thursday, April 30, 2009, featuring Tom Lemmer, McKenna Long & Aldridge LLP, who is nationally known for his cost and pricing experience. This cost and pricing training session will include key fundamentals and current hot topics regarding how to price your contracts, account for costs in order to maximize profits and keep audit issues to a minimum. Included in the discussion will be cost allocation issues, Truth in Negotiations Act requirements and the current DCAA audit initiatives. At a cost of $50 (member) or $65 (general/nonmember) (meal included), this is COST effective training!
