June 8, 2010 (7:30 a.m. at Ball Aerospace, BCH Auditorium): Tom Reid, Certified Contracting Solutions, LLC. On June 8, 2010, at Ball Aerospace, BCH Auditorium, 10 Longs Peak Drive, Broomfield, NCMA Denver Chapter invites you to listen to Tom Reid, Certified Contracting Solutions, LLC, on how to develop a useful basis of estimate ("BOE"). The BOE provides a contractor with assurance that they have included all aspects of cost in their proposal and that they have a rationale for being able to perform at that level. It gives the reviewers of a proposal a level of confidence that the contractor understands the job and can actually perform in the manner and at the cost proposed. Despite the importance of these documents, they are often not well understood, weakly documented (if at all), and usually not tailored to their specific purpose. This presentation will review the basics of a BOE and offer some insight and worksheets that are useful in developing a solid BOE tailored to the effort being proposed.
