Certified Federal Contracts Manager (CFCM) A certified federal contracts management certification demonstrates that you are knowledgeable about the practice of contracts management in the federal environment. Eligibility for the CFCM requires a candidate to have a degree at the bachelor's level, with 24 hours of course work in business management topics, two years of experience, and 120 hours of continuing professional education-at least 40 of which are specific to federal contracts management topics. Waivers are vailable for those candidates who lack the degree requirement but have ten years of experience and a letter from a supervisor supporting their candidacy. Certified Commercial Contracts Manager (CCCM) A certified commercial contracts management certification demonstrates that you are knowledgeable about the practice of contracts management in the commercial environment. For the CCCM, a candidate must have a degree at the bachelor's level with 24 hours of course work in business management topics, two years of xperience, and 120 hours of continuing professional education-at least 40 of which are specific to commercial contracts management topics. Waivers are available for those candidates who lack the degree requirement but have ten years of experience and a letter from a supervisor supporting their candidacy. Certified Professional Contracts Manager (CPCM) A certified professional contracts management certification demonstrates that you are knowledgeable about all facets of contracts management, both within the government and commercial environments. For the CPCM, a candidate must have a degree at a level higher than a bachelor's, five years of experience, and provide a self-authored "Statement of Professional Qualification" (500-800 words), along with the application. In addition a candidate must hold current Certified Federal Contract Manager (CFCM) and Certified Commercial Contract Manager (CCCM) designations. Waivers to the advanced degree requirement will be considered for those candidates who have a Bachelor's degree and ten years of experience who present a letter from a supervisor supporting their candidacy. Exam Format All examination modules consist of 110 multiple choice questions. Each question has one correct answer to be selected from four possible options. There are no questions that have either "all of the above" or "none of the above" as options. In addition to the Federal and/or Commercial Exam, each individual has to take and pass the General Business Knowledge Exam. Exam Schedule: Examinations are available continuously, five days a week, with some centers having evening and weekend hours. As an incentive, the Denver Chapter will award members, who become certified in 2009/2010, 50% of the individual’s costs not to exceed a lifetime total of $500 per successful applicant (taking into consideration the total cost for CCCM, CFCM and CPCM).
