ABOUT US:

 

We are representing a Fortune 1000 client that has doubled its revenue and employee population over the past 7 years.  One year revenue growth is 13% and one year employee growth is over 10%.  Be part of a team that was named to Fortune's 2008 list of "America's Most Admired Companies."   The position of Senior Counsel is open due to growth.  Career growth options consist in the legal department and the business units.

 

SENIOR COUNSEL RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Advise on Federal Acquisition Regulations, including agency supplements, statues, cases, rules and procedures (i.e. agency instructions) that affect the federal business units.
  • Provide counseling on legal, accounting, auditing and claims settlement functions with respect to federal government programs and operations. 
  • Assist with its requirements for purchases of supplies and services in support of its federal prime contracts. 
  • Conduct investigations, internal audits and inspections of policies, processes, procedures and practices that relate to federal government programs and operations. 
  • Represent or defend in litigation for matters including contract award, claims dispute, contractual breach, Contracting Officer final decisions, audit matters, and other assertions.
  • Draft and review documents for compliance with statutes, cases, rules, regulations, and prime contract requirements. 
  • Establish a comprehensive training program to educate personnel regarding roles and responsibilities as a federal government contractor.

SENIOR COUNSEL QUALIFICATIONS:

  • JD
  • Minimum of seven years legal experience
  • Minimum of four years practicing federal government contracts law
  • Expertise in government claims and disputes process
  • Thorough understanding of government procurement life cycle
