Chair - Programs & Programs Matt Gomer has been a member of the NCMA Denver Chapter since December of 2007. He served as Program Chair for the 2008/2009 program year. This will be his second year holding the position of Program Chair for the chapter. Matt is currently a Contract Specialist with General Services Administration – Federal Acquisition Service. Matt is responsible for all pre-award and post-award contract functions. He is in charge of a wide variety of procurements ranging from IT software development contracts to services to commodity purchases. Matt was recently accepted into the Contract Management Leadership Development Program (CMLDP) and the first representative to come out of the Denver Chapter. The CMLD program, organized by NCMA National, is designed to help develop the next generation of contract management leaders through an intensive year-long educational experience. “This is an absolutely fantastic program. The course work is extremely valuable and relevant. I am able to apply everything I am learning about leadership into my current position. The skills I am learning will undoubtedly help forge a path to success. I highly encourage others to look into this incredible program.” Prior to GSA Matt was a Program Specialist working with the Rocky Mountain Regional CASU (Cooperative Administrative Support Unit/ RMRC). He provided contract management, project management, and acquisition support for the RMRC. He was responsible for the management of RMRCs’ contract staffing and multi-media service lines which grossed $60 million annually. Preceding Matt’s move to Colorado, he lived in Waconia, Minnesota, near Minneapolis/ St. Paul. He held a position as project manager for a commercial construction contractor, Kohls Foam Systems, Inc. Matt specialized in energy efficient sustainable construction methods. He has managed major projects for Cargill, Aspen Ski Company, and the Little Nell in Aspen Colorado. Matt graduated in 2002 with a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Business Management from St. John’s University in Collegeville, MN. For fun, Matt enjoys cycling, playing his guitar, fishing, hunting, and anything else that lets him escape into the mountains. As Program Chair, Matt is responsible for finding speakers for the NCMA monthly meetings. All suggestions for possible speakers or topics are highly encouraged and welcome!
